Scarpa Men’s Manta
The new Scarpa Manta is the latest version of what has been the number one 4 season mountain walking boot for many years now. This tried and tested boot is ideally suited to hill, mountain & glacier walking on rugged terrain and the occasional easier alpine and UK winter climbs. Excels in winter walking, where crampons are used for extended periods. The New model is now 10% lighter, features an improved fit, full rand & new pro fibre midsole for improved dexterity & ultimate Grivel crampon compatability. Available in navy.

Great winter boot

Pros: High quality, Durable
I have used these in the lake district and scotland for winter use. They are great with or without crampons and are very comfortable straight from the box. They are warm enough in freezing conditions.
They do not have a waterproof liner however dont let this put you off as they have minimal stitching, quality leather and with a waterproof treatment like nikwax they are water tight. I have used mine alot in deep snow and rain and have never had wet feet!
They come with a high rubber rand which protects the boot from sharp rocks etc. The sole has a deep treat which helps walking in snow and is good for step kicking. The ankle cuff is higher than a typical 3 season boot which i prefer as you have plenty of support.
I have the gsb (grivel scarpa binding) however i chose to buy the standard fitting crampon. This is just personal preference and i have been told that the gsb fitting crampon is great and very secure.
I really do like this boot and would highly recommend it for winter walking and easier winter climbs. It has received best in test awards in trail magazine and i can see why it has.

Very good all round boots. Excellant for walking in the winter as they are warm, tough and much lighter than previous model. Work well on rock and snow, used to kick steps with no bother.
Boots are not too stiff to use for walking, but plenty stiff enough for crampons. Bought with the GSB air tec crampon and they make a perfect couple!
