I've stood in a Galloway forest with rain running down the inside of my sleeves pondering a rash rainwear purchase, so North Face had to come up with the goods, and they did. From its inicial stylish cut to the detailing in the pockets and storm cuffs it looked good enough on paper and although I woud'nt be tackling the Alps it had to take what a Scottish Borders winter could throw at it and that's been a testing time for us all. At minus eighteen and thigh deep in snow the wicking qualities proved admirable as I would struggle but not overheat and when the melt came the water was running the right way on the outside of the jacket not inside, all these attributes and an attractive shade of blue to boot, North Face have created a blue haven at the right price, just for me.
